Thanks so much for submitting your membership application and payment. We’ve got alerts set up to let us know when new applications come in so we can review them ASAP.
In case you’re curious, here’s what happens next…
Step #1: We’ll review your application.
We’re 100% committed to making sure Freelance Focus remains a safe space for experienced freelancers to learn, grow, and hang out together. To prevent any tire kickers or bad actors from joining the community, we make applications mandatory and personally review every single submission to make sure it’s a good fit.
There are a number of “deal breakers” or “red flags” that will disqualify an applicant, but in general this process is designed to ensure that every member is:
- Serious about their freelancing career, not experimenting or testing the waters.
- Interested in both giving and receiving value inside of the community.
- Clear on the value that the community can provide to them and their business.
- A good fit for the culture and working environment that we already have in place.
- Not someone who is here primarily to sell products or services to our members.
As long as you align with most of those goals we have for our members, you stand a good chance of having your application approved.
Step #2: We’ll email you a status update within 48 hours.
We really, really try to get back to everyone within 24 hours, but we like to leave some breathing room to allow for times when someone is on vacation or away from their devices.
If your application is approved, we’ll include detailed instructions for getting access to the chat community as well as any other members-only content you’re entitled to.
If your application is not approved, we’ll issue a complete refund of your money, including any transaction fees, and include an explanation of why we thought it wasn’t a perfect fit.
In general, there isn’t much of an “appeals” process once a decision has been made, but we’re always open to hearing your feedback and re-considering an application if there was some piece of information that we missed.
Step #3: If approved. You’ll get all kinds of access links.
Once your application has been approved, we’ll drop you into an automated welcome sequence that shows you exactly how to join the community and claim all of your member benefits.
You’ll probably want to jump right in, but we’ve found that we have a more successful onboarding experience when we walk new members through the process one step at a time.
We’ll start by getting you access to our 24-hour chat community. Once you’re in there, you’ll have the ability to send use a Direct Message with any questions or concerns you have. Just look for Dennis Hammer, James Sowers, or any member who has a Freelance Focus “flag” logo next to their name.
After that, we’ll make sure you’re added to the email newsletter and any other content-based resources you might be entitled to, like a resource library, webinar archive, or online course.
Got questions? We’d love to hear from you.
We know it can be worrisome to have money floating other there in the ether without anything tangible to show for it. If you have any questions or concerns, feel free to email us at team@freelancefocus.com and we’ll get back to you right away.
